There’s a lot to be said for being organised, especially at university when you have a lot to fit into your already busy schedule. If you’re not sure whether you fit into the ‘organised’ category, here are five ways to tell.
1. You have endless supplies of stationery
It may be a cliché, but every organised person usually has a well-stocked stationery cupboard, and are very good at replacing anything that goes missing. Stationery is usually arranged by colour or size, and there’s guaranteed to always be at least one extra box of staples, just in case.
2. You never run out of food
Whilst people might make fun of your organisational tendencies, your propensity to make long and detailed shopping lists means you never run out of food. Your personal food cupboard is full to the brim with tins and extra supplies of pasta and rice – after all, it’s better to have too much food than too little.
3. You always have clean clothes to wear
Another great perk of being organised is that you always know when you need to do your washing, and never leave it so long that you have nothing left to wear by the time laundry day rolls round. It also helps that you have a constant supply of laundry tablets and fabric conditioner available, that of course your housemates will want to ‘borrow’.
4. Your life is one big spreadsheet
If you’re an organised person, you simply won’t understand how people function without setting up a separate spreadsheet for every aspect of their lives. Calculating a budget? Setting up a shopping list? Creating a revision timetable? These are all life tasks that can be made simpler with a robust, colour coded spreadsheet.
5. You get things done
Factoring in all of the points above, your inclination for being organised means that not only do you complete all of the things you want to achieve on a day to day basis, but you’re also great at organising other people as well. Social events and group gatherings usually fall upon you to arrange as the ‘organised’ one in the group. But that’s ok, because when you’re in charge of the plan you can pretty much guarantee that everyone will have a great time.
