What we can do for your football community programme
While some insurance cover may be provided by your league, other cover may not be included leaving your football foundation or community scheme at risk.
Trustees’ indemnity
Financially protects trustees, directors, governors, officers, and committee members if a claim is made against them for committing a wrongful act that is damaging to the foundation or charity.
Cyber Insurance
Cyber-crime is on the increase in the UK. Your foundation (and your reputation) could quickly be severely affected if your data or network is compromised. Our cyber liability provides effective cover against loss of income and claims made against you, as well as access to legal advice and expertise to help minimise any damage.
Cover for events
You may need to present a certificate of public liability before you’re able to book certain venues. We’ll help you find the right protection against third-party liability claims, including cover for medical fees, legal expenses and compensation payments.
Public liability
Cover for compensation claims made against your foundation or community scheme by a member of the public due to injury or damage caused to their property. This may be provided by your league but further cover could be required.
Employers' liability
Cover for compensation claims made against your foundation or community programme by an employee for injury or illness caused whilst acting in the course of their employment.
Buildings and contents
Cover for buildings ad contents that are either owned by your foundation or community scheme or for which they are responsible under a maintenance agreement. Cover can be extended to include accidental damage and subsidence. This may be provided by your league but further cover could be required.
What is Football Foundation insurance?
Football Foundation insurance protects the charity arms of football clubs against the risks associated with running community projects and schemes. It allows foundations to ensure they are protected under a single, easy to manage policy. It’s likely that some insurance such as basic public liability cover is provided by your league, however our experience has taught us that cover against cyber threats, trustees’ indemnity and events are not always provided.
A Football Foundation or community project is likely to have increased risk due to the nature of the activities they run and it’s important they have the right levels of cover.
Your questions answered
The Football Foundation will generally have basic public liability supplied by their league.
However, the following risks may not be covered:
- Trustees Indemnity: Protect your trustees against claims for financial losses.
- Cyber insurance: protect your foundation against threats and exposures, including cybercrime, data breaches and system interruption.
- Events: protection for events organised by your foundation including risks to volunteers and guests, cancellation and curtailment, money and damage to borrowed, hired or owned property.
- Employers’ liability: cover for compensation claims made by an employee for injury or illness caused whilst acting in the course of their employment.
