However, first and foremost you’ll need to report the theft to the police. You should do this as soon as possible, ideally within a day of discovering the theft.
You’ll receive a crime number from the police which you’ll need to give when making your claim. This number is very important and it’s unlikely your claim for theft will be able to go ahead without it.
