School group travel insurance: Frequently asked questions
It’s important to fully understand your cover before you take it out. Here are some frequently asked questions regarding our school group travel insurance.
Do school group trips abroad have to have travel insurance?
Although travel insurance isn’t required by law, it’s a very sensible purchase, especially if the travel group consists of young people on a school trip or expedition.
Having cover in place means that should something unfortunate happen, like needing to access medical treatment or loss of a passport, the travellers would be covered rather than their parents or guardians having to pay out in full. Most insurers include a wide range of circumstances in their policies such as cover for cancellation and curtailment, replacement passports and baggage.
For travel agents and school trip organisers, this kind of cover offers additional piece of mind for both customers, parents and travellers. Rather than schools or parents having to sort travel insurance for their children’s school trip themselves, the cover is already included within the cost of the trip, or at least available to purchase as an add-on if they require.

That’s why our travel insurance for youth and school trips covers up to £200 towards the cost of transport and extra accommodation. This covers passports that have been lost, damaged or stolen! Plus, cover can be tailored to your unique requirements.
What kind of medical cover is provided for youth and school trip travel insurance?
We know that travel insurance for school trips abroad is an important purchase, and that the safety of your travellers is your number one priority. That’s why we offer up to £5,000,000 cover for medical expenses such as hospital visits, ambulance use and medical repatriation costs. What if a group leader is injured?

At Endsleigh, we know it’s important to maintain staff to student ratios so the trip can continue smoothly and safely.
