Our products and services
Fire, theft and flood
Up to £3,000 protection for student belongings on university premises against fire, theft and flood
Up to £750 cover for mobiles phones that are stolen on university grounds
Protection across multiple locations
Your students are covered whether they’re in the university library or the students’ union café. You can also choose to extend your cover to protect students on their commute.
Choose optional accidental damage cover up to £3,000 to protect students from drops and spills
Illness, injury or bereavement
Cover for associated costs should a non-UK student have to return home while studying due to illness, injury or bereavement.
If a course is cut short or repeated due to accident or illness, we’ll reimburse the prepaid course fees
Following a medical emergency, we’ll pay to bring a relative to the UK to visit
Up to £250 for professional counselling if a student suffers stress, anxiety, depression or any other mental or nervous disorder as a result of accident, illness or bereavement
Accident or illness
Up to £20,000 cover for tuition fees should a student become incapacitated due to accident or illness and have to de-register from university
Pre-paid tuition fees
We can help re-imburse unused tuition fees that the student has already paid (or is legally liable to pay) following an incident.
With fees protection, you can offer financial security to all students, parents or guardians paying tuition fees at your university
24 hour protection
Cover is in force 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the entire time a student is enrolled at your university
Up to £50,000 cover should a student have an accident that results in permanent disability or accidental death
Cover is provided for all students participating in or attending pre-organised nonsporting activity, as long as it’s recognised by the university
Cover for accidents, illness or injury that occur while a student is on a university-approved placement
Practical sessions and field trips
Cover is extended to protect students during practical sessions and university field trips
Wider wellbeing: Beyond traditional student insurance
As part of our medical assistance, mental health support and legal cover, we’re also able to provide access to a variety of specialist helplines to help students with their wider wellbeing. We're committed to offering a service beyond insurance, through pro-active support management to ensure student life is as enjoyable as possible.
This cover includes two services. The first is a 24/7 365 days a year GP service which provides medical assistance and supports mental health. Each student will have access to a private GP 24 hours a day via multiple channels, including a 24/7 365 telephone helpline to ensure a human connection, an app that provides instant messenger access to a doctor, or online face to face consultations. It offers the ability to have access in any country, with unlimited consultations.
The second service is a confidential and secure helpline that also offers a unique, tailored experience for each student’s needs with a dedicated healthcare professional throughout, for as long as required. This is provided by experienced medically trained nurses, including specialist mental health nurses, who offer long-term practical advice and emotional support on a wide range of issues. This service is available 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
Our legal services provide advice across a wide range of legal issues as follows: Accommodation assistance, employment, consumer disputes, social media defamation, identity theft, personal injury, criminal prosecution defence, bicycle uninsured loss recovery and consular travel assistance. This helpline is available 24 hours a day, and there is access to online support tools, such as template letters for landlord or employer disputes. Students can also access the My Legal Buddy portal, which provides intuitive and logic-based advice, tailoring documents, information and recommendations.
Sometimes students may find themselves in a situation where they are no longer able to keep up with various payments and find themselves in debt. This can be upsetting and difficult to deal with if they don’t know where to turn. As part of our medical assistance, mental health support and legal cover, we provide experienced debt counsellors over the telephone. Fully confidential, they are able to discuss all options and provide advice on the best solutions available. This helpline operates Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
