Optional extras for your teacher car insurance
To make our car insurance for teachers truly flexible, we give you the option to choose any of the extras listed below. Pick and choose to shape a policy that meets your requirements.
For a little extra peace of mind, you can add RAC breakdown cover to your policy. We offer four levels of breakdown cover, all will aim to fix your car at the roadside, if you are over a quarter of a mile away from home, or failing that will take you to a nearby garage.
If you've never broken down before and you're not sure what to expect, find out more about what to do if you breakdown.
If you need legal representation as a result of an accident, whether it was your fault or not, it may not be covered by your car insurance. Make sure you can pay those legal fees with cover of up to £100,000 for you and all named drivers on your policy. You'll also receive help to defend your legal rights if you have an accident that leads to an accusation of a motoring offence.
Although hire car cover is included as standard on comprehensive policies, you may want to consider adding this cover to a third party or third party, fire and theft car insurance policy to make sure you can stay on the road no matter what.
£2,500 for replacing locks and keys for your car, home and office, including locksmith charges. What’s more if your car keys are lost or stolen you’ll also receive three days of emergency car hire or the option to reclaim the cost of onward transport.
Protect your policy excess with this additional peace-of-mind cover. Whatever the excess payment you’re required to make following an accident, it will be reimbursed if you have excess protection. You can claim as many times as you need to up to your chosen coverage limit of either £300, £500 or £750. Please note that windscreen excesses are not included.
If you have four or more years of No Claims Bonus, you can opt to protect it so you don't lose your hard-earned bonus years in the event of a claim.
If you're injured in an accident, you may be left unable to work - either while you recover or permanently, dependent on the severity of your injuries. Enhanced personal accident cover will provide a specified lump sum which may provide immediate security in assisting with bills, medical costs and other expenses that may be incurred.
