£1,600 Charity Fundraising Success for Local Insurance Firm

A local insurance company has raised £1,600 for SOFT UK, a charity specialising in providing information and support to families with children affected by genetic disorders, Trisomy 13 (Patau’s Syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome).

Staff members from Cheltenham based Endsleigh Insurance Services have taken part in a series of fundraising events and activities throughout the year, including a 5k charity run, raffles and bake sales, all in a bid to raise funds for SOFT UK.

The team decided to fundraise for the charity to support a colleague, Gareth Ferbrache and his wife, whose unborn baby daughter was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome) earlier this year.

Speaking of the fundraising efforts, Gareth Ferbrache, insurance consultant at Endsleigh, said: “SOFT UK have been fantastic and really helped my family through what has been an extremely challenging time, so we wanted to give something back for everything they have done.

“As a team, we started the year aiming to raise £1,500 and have achieved an amazing £1,600 which will go towards the charity’s invaluable research and allow them to continue to help families affected by Trisomy 13 and 18. My family and I are incredibly grateful and want to thank not just SOFT UK, but also Endsleigh for their fantastic support.”

SOFT UK provides information and support to families affected by Trisomy 13, Trisomy 18 and related genetic disorders. The charity helps to support families at all stages following a prenatal diagnosis, whether it’s through pregnancy, when caring for a child, after a loss, expecting a new baby and beyond.

Jan Fowler, chair of trustees at Soft UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the amazing support shown by Endsleigh employees this year. Their commitment and generosity in choosing to support SOFT UK through employee fundraising means we can be there for families affected by Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18 when they need us most.

“Without donations like these, we would not be able to continue our charitable work and help hundreds of families across the UK.”

Julia Alpan, head of marketing at Endsleigh, added: “We’re really proud of all our staff who have given up their time to raise money for such a worthy cause. SOFT UK do such important work with families who are affected by genetic disorders and we know this money will help to transform even more lives.”

With over 50 years’ experience Endsleigh uses its expertise to provide home, motor, travel and gadget insurance, throughout student life, through to homeownership and beyond.
