Do I need to insure an empty property?
An unoccupied property still needs insurance. In fact, your property has an additional layer of risk when unoccupied. Standard landlord insurance policies usually cover some element of unoccupancy, but it’s usually a short period of time.
If your property will be unoccupied for longer than the standard period of unoccupancy on your landlord insurance policy, you will need specialist unoccupied landlord insurance if you want/need to remain covered during the unoccupancy.
Does landlord insurance cover an empty property?
