Public Liability (PL)

Public Liability is the legal liability for injury caused to members of the public or damage to their property. Typically insurers would look to provide a minimum of £2,000,000 of Public Liability cover, increasing to either £5,000,000 or even £10,000,000 for larger organisations and/or if specific contracts stipulate the need for this level of cover.

This is becoming a much more sought after area of insurance as many companies will request copies of your Public Liability insurance if you wish to hire out rooms/premises, wish to undertake a fundraising event on their site or even when you bid for funding.
