How Endsleigh is supporting customers during COVID-19

It’s been refreshing to see so many organisations – large and small – adapt the way their business runs to help people suffering due to the coronavirus.

Just like many of these businesses, we at Endsleigh have also been altering our businesses practices in order to support our customers during this strange time. We’ve outlined exactly how we’re supporting you below.

How are Endsleigh supporting students?

We know that as soon as lockdown was announced and universities were closed, many students living at university decided to head home and stay with their families. So, if your vehicle is being kept at a different address to the one on your car insurance policy because of COVID-19, you don’t need to worry about letting us know.

However, if this temporary address becomes permanent after the government lockdown is over, it’s important to get in touch and tell us.

How are Endsleigh supporting NHS workers?

We’re sure that most people in the UK are extremely proud of our NHS right now. Our NHS staff really are the backbone of the fight against COVID-19. To show our support, if any of our customers who are NHS staff have an accident during the government-recognised COVID-19 lockdown period, we will pay your excess fee. We will also remove the cancellation fee if you decide to cancel your policy. This is in a bid to say a huge ‘thank you’ and ensure that you aren’t out of pocket at all.

How are Endsleigh supporting key workers?

We appreciate that as a key worker, you may find yourself travelling to locations that weren’t stated when you first took out your policy. For this reason, we are making sure that your car insurance will cover you in this circumstance without you having to let us know.

Also, if you’re driving to work in a critical role during the government-recognised lockdown period and have an accident, we’ll pay your excess for you. This is all to say thank you and save you both time and money.

How are Endsleigh supporting volunteers?

If you’re supporting your community by transporting medicines or groceries to support those affected by COVID-19, we want to thank you by covering your vehicle without you needing to contact us.

Also, if you have an accident during the government-recognised lockdown period and are undertaking COVID-19-related volunteer tasks, we’ll pay your excess for you. It’s our way of making sure you aren’t out of pocket.

How are Endsleigh supporting those working from home?

We know that everyone’s lives have changed since the UK went into lockdown. If you’ve recently found yourself turning your spare room into your office, don’t worry, we’re supporting you too.

If you need to work from home due to COVID-19, your policy will cover you without you having to let us know. If you’re receiving business visitors to your home, you’ll need to contact us as we’d need to review this on a case-by-case basis.

How are Endsleigh supporting those facing financial difficulty due to COVID-19?

The outbreak of the coronavirus has put many of us in difficult situations. If you’re in financial difficulty due to COVID-19 (for example, you’ve lost your job or need to take your car off the road to save money), we are supporting you. If you need to cancel your policy, we will waive our usual cancelation fee for you – meaning you aren’t out of pocket.

As you may know, whilst trying our hardest to support our customers, we’re also supporting our staff. To ensure their safety, everyone is working from home during the coronavirus lockdown. For this reason, please only contact us if it’s urgent so that our staff can prioritise those in the most vulnerable situations.

Before getting in touch, remember that you can use your online account to manage your policy, speak to us via Live Chat and also check our extensive FAQs to see if your question has already been answered. The full announcement from our CEO can also be read here.

Thank you for your support and stay safe.
