We held our first ever Endsleigh Live event recently – and you guys had a TON of questions for us! As promised, we’re answering some of the ones that were most commonly asked.

How do I know what’s covered? For example, is my photography kit/TV/laptop/guitar accessories/audio equipment covered?

How do you register if you are not 18 by the time you start university (registering for cover doesn’t work because apparently I am too young)?

How do I cover a laptop that is worth more than your £1,250 limit?

You would need to select ‘Gadget’ under ‘Additional Cover’ on the confirm your cover page via www.endsleigh.co.uk/confirmyourcover or give us a call on 0333 234 1557.


Is there an inbuilt excess on the provided policy from our student accommodation?

Excess rates may apply to the cover included in your accommodation, visit. Please visit www.endsleigh.co.uk/confirmyourcover to check.


Can we expect a document via email, or will we just need the document showed in the eLive event (which shows what’s covered) that we’ll need to print out?

Do I need to pay for cover with Endsleigh? What’s covered? And how do I know if I’m covered and what for?

If you are living in accommodation already insured by Endsleigh, a level of cover is included already for you, visit www.endsleigh.co.uk/confirmyourcover to check all details.


Is there a package that covers everything from gadgets to musical instruments?

Our Everywhere Student Packs offer various levels of cover for lots of different items (without needing to specify them!). However, unfortunately, musical instruments and bikes aren’t included in this cover. But you can quickly and easily insure additional items by personalising your own cover! What if we buy things throughout the year after making the quote? Do these things get added to the quote? Or if not, how do we add them?

When there is a cap on the price limit of an item, is that per item or across all items?

Does the everywhere pack cover all my electronics?

Our Everywhere Student Packs offer various levels of cover for most electronic items (gadgets, laptops and mobile phones), without needing to specify them! But they will need to be under three years old. Can students living at home receive insurance from Endsleigh?

Do you cover Laptop/Tablet purchases from eBay?

Yes, you can insure a gadget purchased from eBay with Endsleigh’s gadget and possessions insurance - you will just need to ensure your gadget is less than 3 years old at the time the policy starts. You will also need to provide proof of ownership (such as an invoice) in order to make a claim.

Please note: Gadgets and mobile phones must be in good condition and full working order when you purchase your policy. We will also be unable to provide cover for loss or damage that occurred before the start of your policy.
