Cruises are increasingly developing as a popular vacation choice for many Brits but holidaymakers are reminded to book the appropriate Travel Insurance before going onboard.
New figures from the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) revealed that almost 1.25 million Brits are expected to opt for a cruise this year as the sector continues to attract new customers.
Leading cruise companies such as Royal Caribbean International and Princess Cruises based vessels are now operating from UK ports, whilst P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Thomson Cruises have increased their passenger capacity in order to keep up with demand.
Cruises are traditionally seen as luxury holidays, however, the launch of easyCruise, means that budget travellers can also enjoy a water holiday. . The company is offering cruises to the French and Italian Rivieras over the summer as well as trips to Amsterdam to Brussels.
However, anyone planning a cruise trip is being reminded to make sure they have suitable Travel Insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances, especially as the cost of emergency medical treatment whilst at sea could prove very expensive.
