Travel Insurance is vital for anyone planning a trip to long-haul and unusual destinations such as Antarctica.
A number of holiday operators are now offering travellers the chance to visit the chilly resort of Antarctica as part of their holiday plans.
Leading tour operator Discover the World has launched a new product that involves small-vessel expedition voyages to the region. Holidaymakers will be able to travel on the specially designed boats which carry just 40 to 60 passengers and are capable of penetrating deep into the icy glaciers.
A range of other activities including Kayaking excursions and overnight camping will be offered to enable travelers to experience the magic and wildlife of the area.
However, anyone planning to take such a voyage should be aware that any long destination excursion has its potential dangerous and all holidaymakers are being advised to ensure they have adequate Travel Insurance to cover the cost of an unexpected medical care or cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances.
