Sightseeing Europe via train is proving popular with many travellers but they still need to consider the importance of valid Holiday Insurance cover.

The Times reports that the success of Eurostar seems to be encouraging many holidaymakers back to the railway, especially as companies expand their online booking facilities and lower fare offers.

The UK division of the French railway system, Rail Europe, has seen around two million visitors to its online website and predicts that this number could double over the next 12 months as more people consider the benefits of rail travel and its lower environmental impact.

Rail Europe media relations manager, Peter Mills added: "There’s no doubt that environmental considerations are influencing people’s travel choices nowadays. Train travel is the green option."

However, travellers are still advised to ensure they shop around for not only the best priced train tickets but also consider obtaining a good deal on Holiday Insurance to cover any potential mishaps on their journey.
