Many Brits are looking for more than a relaxing two weeks on a beach, according to a leading cruise company.

Royal Caribbean estimated that around 46 per cent of holidaymakers are looking for a vacation that will provide SAFS - sun, adventure, fun and stimulation.

Just three per cent of people involved in the survey admitted that their ideal holiday consisted of nothing but eating, sleeping and relaxing.

Royal Caribbean spokeswoman, Jo Rzymowska told TravelBite: "The survey shows that today's travellers are becoming more demanding expecting a variety of experiences during a holiday, as well as the opportunity to recharge their batteries."

However, any travellers planning to take part in adventurous pursuits whilst on holiday are being advised to double-check the small print on their insurance documentation as some policies do not offer protection against any injuries sustained whilst taking part in extreme sports or unusual activities.
