The forthcoming release of The Da Vinci Code movie could lead to a boost in the number of people planning to travel to Europe.
The much anticipated film, starring Tom Hanks, is set for release this week and travel companies are already hoping to cash in on the blockbusting thriller.
Some tourist firms have launched special "Da Vinci" holidays that will offer packages to see many of the locations described in the Dan Brown's novel such as the Louvre in Paris and Rosslyn church in Scotland.
However, Da Vinci fans are being reminded to make sure they have adequate Travel Insurance before embarking on their journey, in order to protect against lost baggage, unforeseen cancellations as well as covering emergency medical treatment.
Joanne Field, marketing manager for American Express Insurance Services, said: "Thanks to the internet, low-cost air fares and books such as the Da Vinci Code, we are all being inspired to travel more often both at home and abroad."
