LONDON, UK - Up to four million business trips could be made without adequate insurance this year, according to a leading British bank.
Sainsbury's Bank has made the striking suggestion, explaining that many people who travel on business "wrongly assume that they are automatically covered by their employers or by their own Travel Insurance policies".
The bank claims that only around half of consumer Travel Insurance policies currently on the market offer a business travel package of any kind, although Sainsbury's itself actually offers one.
Michael Liddell, Travel Insurance manager for Sainsbury's Bank, urged business travellers to "make sure that they are covered under their own personal Travel Insurance policy extending it for business travel if need be".
