Pet business plans expansion

A County Durham pet cremation business is planning to expand into Teesside and Scotland.

The Northern Echo reports that the Pet Crematorium has invested £1 million in premises in Lanarkshire, making it the largest provider of pet cremation services in Scotland.

The business, which is growing at a rate of 20 per cent a year, also hopes to expand its operations in the North East with a new base on Teesside.

The Pet Crematorium, based on the Langley Park Industrial Estate, near Durham, was set up in 1983 and has been run by the current owners since 1997.
