Which?: Seek advice before buying scooter insurance

Thu, 26 May 2005

People should seek financial advice before purchasing scooter insurance, according to a new guide by Which?

The consumer group's new publication "Be your own Financial Adviser" provides clear advice on how to make good financial decisions on a variety of topics including insurance.

"The government is encouraging financial education in schools, but it will take generations for this to feed through," said Jonquil Lowe, author of the publication.

"Too many are financially illiterate and need to start planning properly for the future. They must educate themselves quickly, or run the risk of throwing money away by making the wrong financial decisions."

It is hoped that the book will help consumers avoid the number of issues associated with obtaining cover including highlighting excessive charges and hidden risks.
