More competition for car motor insurance market

The UK's Car Insurance market is set for a fresh injection of competition.

Thanks to the large number of insurance providers drivers can often get cheap deals if they are prepared to shop around.

This trend has been helped by the entry into the market of less traditional providers.

As well as insurance specialists, supermarkets, banks and roadside recovery firms now offer motor insurance.

This week the RAC announced plans to make a major push into the insurance market.

The RAC hopes the strength of its brand and the loyalty of its customers will help attract interest.
