Motor Insurance providers will be hoping that a recent government campaign will help reduce the number of claims.
Following the introduction of a ban on driving while using mobile phone handsets last year, a television campaign has been launched.
The campaign is intended to make drivers aware of the rule and encourage them to make sure they follow it.
It is hoped that by reducing the number of people using mobile handsets at the wheel a number of accidents can be avoided.
Motoring groups remain divided on the issue, with some criticising the government for singling out mobile phone use when other activities such as applying make-up or fiddling with the radio can be just as dangerous.
