Citroen Picasso most popular for motor insurance

A recent survey has shown that the Citroen Xsara Picasso is the most popular type of people carrier with motorists looking to take out a new insurance policy.

Website quotea.co.uk's survey showed that the Picasso is the most popular model of people carrier for 29 per cent of male voters, and 23 per cent of female voters.

It is believed that the popularity of people carriers like the Picasso lies in the fact that they are relatively inexpensive to insure.

The survey also brought into question the perception that such models are only family cars, showing that only 52 per cent of those wanting to insure their people carriers were married.

Both men and women also plumped for the Vauxhall Safira as their second favourite type of people carrier.

Male drivers chose the Renault Scenic as their third favourite model, while females chose the Ford galaxy.
