Mortgage holders are still confident that their properties will increase in value over the next 12 months, according to a new survey.
High street lender Nationwide found that most homeowners were still reasonably upbeat.
This is in spite of predictions that the UK housing market is in line for a major correction.
"People are remaining reasonably optimistic," Nationwide's Alex Bannister told the Today programme.
"Our latest consumer confidence survey suggests that home owners will expect another one per cent rise over the next six months, so they're not getting carried away but it's steady as she goes rather than a collapse at the moment."
