Life insurance could ease financial anxiety

Date: Wed, 15 Feb 2006

Life insurance cover could help lessen the worry that many Brits face over financial matters.

The latest research from BUPA Insurance estimates that around seven million people are so anxious that they are tempted to visit a doctor and seek appropriate medication to ease their concerns.

Over a third of worriers involved in the survey admitted to losing sleep, whilst 25 per cent say they get annoyed and around 12 per cent become withdrawn from family and friends.

Dr Paula Franklin, BUPA Insurance's deputy medical director, said: "This survey indicates that stress levels across the country are increasing. Almost everyone feels worried sometimes but if you are experiencing frequent sleepless nights and anxiety your worrying could be spiralling out of control.

She added: "Stress-related medical problems are becoming increasingly common."

However, taking out life insurance cover could help to ease some peoples' concerns and it would ensure that loved ones would be financial secure if the worst was to happen.
