Those with mortgages can expect their payments to rise as experts warn an interest rate rise appears increasingly likely.
With the Bank of England anticipating a rise in inflation, the findings of the latest poll by Reuters among industry analysts points to a rise in the rate in the near future.
All of the pundits polled by the news agency said they thought the rate would remain as it is this month, but more than half said they thought a rise was due soon - in either April or May.
HBOS' Adam Chester said the "risks of a spring rate rise are building".
