Does your star sign affect your cheap mortgage?

Your star sign could affect your ability to secure a cheap mortgage deal, according to new research.

Credit reference company MyCallcredit estimates that Aquarian males and Cancerian females are more likely than any other star sign to have a CCJ registered against them, which could reduce their ability to secure a competitive mortgage offer.

The study also shows that Virgo males are 60 per cent more likely to have a poor credit rating compared to Virgo females – confirming past research that shows men are less in control of their finances.

"We don’t think you can generalise about star sign characteristics when it comes to people’s attitudes to debt, sex is more likely to be an indicator of someone’s habits than when they were born," said MyCallcredit director Alison Nicholson.
