Building society recognised for cheap mortgages

The Yorkshire Building Society has been recognised for its commitment to providing competitive mortgage products.

The building society has been unveiled as the 'Lender of the Year' in the 2005 Mortgage Magazine Awards, as well as being highly commended in the categories of 'Best Re-mortgage Lender' and 'Best Offset Lender'.

"Our aim at the Yorkshire is to offer all borrowers a combination of long term value through consistently attractive interest rates, fair pricing practices and mortgages which are flexible enough to cope with members needs as they change at different times in their lives," said Iain Cornish, chief executive of Yorkshire Building Society.

"We are also proud that, unlike many of our competitors, all our mortgages are available to new and existing borrowers alike."

The building society also picked up two prizes at the recent Moneyfacts Awards for its discount rate mortgage and its fixed rate home loans.
