Don't rely on big names for Northern Ireland Car Insurance

Tue, 31 May 2005

Northern Irish motorists are being advised to shop around for Car Insurance cover and not just rely on quotes by the leading companies.

In particular, research by insuresupermarket.com found that many drivers opt for policies with the AA or the RAC because of their breakdown cover. However, such cover can often prove expensive and inadequate.

Richard Mason, director of insuresupermarket.com warns: "Don't just opt for the big two when you buy your cover, as they can cost over four times more than the cheapest comprehensive policy."

Mr Mason also recommended that consumers read the small print on their policies to ensure that they are covered for extras such as driving abroad.
