Young Drivers could use high-tech gadgets to avoid speeding fines and extra points on their licence.
Recent research shows that devices capable of tracking the location of fixed speed cameras could prevent many motorists being caught speeding on UK roads. This means that some Young Drivers could be encouraged to drive safely and reduce their Car Insurance premiums.
Information about the exact location of traffic cameras can be obtained via the National Safety Camera Liaison's website and the London Safety Camera Partnership website, however, new in-car satellite navigation units, using GPS technology could provide a more efficient way for motorists to avoid being caught.
The Times reports that sat-nav devices can store details of speed cameras and automatically alert motorists to their close proximity. Regular updates can be downloaded via the internet and transferred to the GPS unit.
However, a new road safety bill could seek to make such devices illegal because of concerns they could encourage drivers to speed outside areas covered by cameras.
