Young Drivers look to green cars

Tue, 07 Feb 2006

Growing sales of hybrid cars could be a sign that Young Drivers are opting for environmentally - friendly vehicles.

The car manufacturer Toyota has reported that strong demand for its Prius hybrid model have helped to boost its quarterly profits.

The company has seen operating profit rise by 14 per cent during the October to December period and is planning to increase production of the Prius in order to respond to the market interest.

The hybrid cars have lower fuel consumption and therefore cheaper running costs as well as having less of an impact on the environment. In particular, Young Drivers may find the cars desirable as they often attract lower insurance premiums.
