Women are better drivers when it comes to tackling the UK's worst roundabouts, according to a new survey.
Women's Car Insurance premiums could fall after data from Saga Motor Insurance shows that men are more likely to have accidents at roundabouts, even though 46 per cent of female motorists admit that traffic islands make them feel nervous.
The study shows that 12 per of men have had accidents when approaching or negotiating a roundabout, compared to just seven per cent of woman.
Saga also revealed that the series of five mini-roundabouts on the A4312 in Swindon, Wiltshire, is the UK's most complicated roundabout system often causing motorists to drive the wrong way.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Light sculpture at Canary Wharf was voted the nation's favourite roundabout, especially as it is designed to mimic the 24-hour nature of the capital city.
"It would seem that roundabouts are a cause of celebration as well as consternation for the nation's motorists," said Andrew Goodsell, chief executive, Saga.
"It is interesting that the favourites appear to have been chosen for their aesthetic quality, rather than ease of navigation, while the worst have been selected for the opposite reasons," he added.
