Young Drivers could save money this Valentine's Day by putting their partner on their Car Insurance policy.
It may not be as romantic as a candle-lit meal or a diamond ring but Privilege Insurance claim that by insuring your partner on your own policy you could save enough for a special Valentine treat next year.
The so-called "Insured and Partner" policies tend to offer a more competitive quote and could be one way for younger drivers to lower their motoring costs as well as allowing their partner to build up a no claims discount.
For example, a professional man living in London and driving a Citroen Picasso could save around £47 by simply adding a female partner of a similar profile to his policy, whilst, a 37 year old woman living in Kent could save £21 by adding her male partner.
Privilege Insurance managing director, Ian Parker, commented: "In our experience, drivers taking the Insured and Partner option represent a lower risk perhaps because the responsibility of being in a long-term relationship translates into safer driving when behind the wheel."
