Shopping around for a good deal on Car Insurance could help your bank account recover from an expensive Christmas.
Figures from Britannia Building Society revealed that 37 per cent of people will be £700 in debt following the recent festive period and saving on Car Insurance could help clear that overspend a bit quicker.
Just ten per cent of adults in the UK save for up to 12 months to ensure they can afford the average £718.90 that Christmas costs. Yet of the 17.1 million adults who put their festive spending on credit, some will take up to a year to pay it all off.
"We do not really have a culture of saving in the UK these days but those who do, really reap the benefits of being organised with their money," said Neville Richardson, chief executive of Britannia.
He added: "The people who chose to save for big purchases such as Christmas, holidays, and home improvements can add hundreds of pounds in interest to their own contributions by saving in advance."
