Policies benefit two car Young Drivers

Mon, 13 Feb 2006

Insurance companies are looking at ways of offering better deals for Young Drivers.

The introduction of discount polices for drivers of two or more cars could help some Young Drivers reduce their annual motoring costs because of lower insurance premiums.

The new policies, introduced by leading providers such as Direct Line, offer motorists who drive more than one car an automatic discount – in some cases, drivers could save up to ten per cent on their insurance cover costs.

Emma Holyer, motor spokesperson for Direct Line said: "It doesn’t seem to matter how much it costs to buy and keep a second car Brits still love them. We have turned into a nation of car fanatics foregoing fun activities in order to get our next set of flashy wheels."

She added: "The two-car household is now more likely to be the three or four-car household with the costs of owning cars running into thousands. Direct Line will now be able to help ease this financial burden by offering a discount to anyone insuring more than one car with us."
