A new high-tech system could eventually help Young Drivers master those tricky parking manoeuvres and reduce their Car Insurance costs.
The completely electronic system would simply allow motorists to park by pressing a button on their dashboard and the car would automatically steer itself into position, reports M&C Tech.
Car makers are looking at a number of ways of making parking easier for drivers and some luxury cars already include a number of sensors positioned around the car to warn drivers of any unseen obstacle.
"Such cameras are hardly bigger than a lighter and can be installed in combination with a navigation system in any vehicle for prices starting at 480 euros" said Eva Appold of the Siemens VDO car parts supplier.
Cars such as the Audi Q7 SUV offer a so-called Advanced Parking System which uses not only cameras but also displays lines to help the driver navigate into a space.
It is hoped that Young Drivers will eventually be able reduce their Car Insurance premiums by fitting such devices to their cars.
