Even Inspector Morse needed to ensure he had adequate insurance for his classic Jaguar car.
The 1960 2.4-litre Jaguar MkII is set to have a new owner following an expensive £100,000 complete restoration. The car, which features in all the episodes of the popular TV detective series, is the subject of a forthcoming sealed-bid auction, reports Auto Express.
The sale follows the car being forced into receivership after its owner filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and means yet another change in owner. The car was originally given away by Woolworths when the show was concluded in 2000, and has changed hands several times since then.
In July 2004, the Jag was voted as "the nation's all-time favourite, famous, car" in a poll commissioned by the Post Office.
