Aberdeen may be the safest city for car crime but drivers are still warned to ensure their Car Insurance policy is adequate and up-to-date.
A new survey by the insurer Endsleigh concluded that the Scottish city of Aberdeen is the place where least motorists are likely to be the victims of car crime, reports the Scotsman.
The number of reported thefts in Aberdeen is 52 per cent below the national average for the UK, with accident rates 14.2 per cent below the national average, although Edinburgh was awarded the title of safest city, with accident rates 14.4 per cent below the UK average.
The survey also discovered that the country's most accident prone hotspots are London, Birmingham and Manchester, whilst the cities with the highest car theft rates are Leeds, Bristol and, again, Manchester.
A spokesman for Endsleigh also acknowledged that the study, which involved claim data from the last four years, showed a small drop in car crime levels recently.
