Talking about money matters and financial services often leads to arguments in the home, according to a new survey.
Research by insurance provider Legal & General shows that money matters and overspending can cause fights in many relationships.
However, shopping around for more competitive products such as Car Insurance and improving general fitness levels could make for a happier home life.
Around 16 per cent of arguments are caused by money worries, although fitness fanatics appear to have less rows, with money troubles accounting for just ten per cent of disagreements.
"According to the research it would seem that a happier home life may be achieved if a good lifestyle is balanced with being in control of money matters so arguments are least likely," said Garry Skelton, marketing director of Legal & General Insurance.
He added: "Those who have not struck a balance between diet and exercise and money worries would appear to argue the most."
