Be careful of fraudsters when taking out Women's Car Insurance

Thu, 05 Jan 2006

Female drivers are being warned to be careful of fraudsters when taking out Women's Car Insurance.

HBOS are urging people to ensure they take adequate steps to prevent identity fraud in 2006 by looking after their important financial documents, including their certificate of insurance and driving licence.

In particular, shredding old documents such be common practice rather than simply putting them out with the normal waste in order to prevent unscrupulous people passing them off as their own.

Women looking to purchase their Car Insurance cover over the internet are also being advised to double check the security of websites, especially as the number of fraudsters setting up spoof internet sites to gain confidential information is increasing.

The so-called practice of shoulder surfing is becoming more common and therefore female drivers should double check that no-one is looking over their shoulder when there are applying for or renewing their Women's Car Insurance policy via the internet.
