What can I do online?
Whose name should a car insurance policy go in?
- The insurance should be in the name of the owner or the main user of the car. If the main user of the car is not the policyholder, they must be the legally married spouse/civil partner named on the policy. If any other driver is the main user we will not be able to offer a quotation.
- If the car is insured already you cannot insure it again. A car cannot be the subject of more than one insurance policy.
- If the car is not owned by you or registered in your name you will need to tell us.
I don’t have the registration number yet, can I still get a quote?
Yes, providing you have the car’s make, model, engine size and year of manufacture. We have a list of cars based on their details for you to choose from, however, if you want to purchase the insurance you will need to provide us with the registration number.
Can I get immediate cover?
Yes, providing you have given us all the information we asked for during the quote – including the registration number of the vehicle and you have the means to pay for the policy online.
We accept most credit or debit cards and if you choose to pay monthly we would need your direct debit details. This is subject to our normal terms and conditions. Credit card payments will incur a £2.50 transaction fee.
What cover should I choose?

What is no claims bonus?
For every claim free year you have had insurance in your own name your insurance provider will confirm a year’s no claims.
This no claims bonus can be transferred to your new insurer when you decide to leave your current provider as long as you have no outstanding issues with them.
You have to complete the full year with your provider to obtain a year’s no claims bonus.
This accrued bonus can be used to get you discount of up to 75%.
Can I protect my no claims bonus?
If you have earned four or more years no claims bonus we may be able to offer you No Claims Bonus Protection. If you select this benefit your no claims bonus will not be affected provided you do not make more than the permitted number of claims. Terms and conditions will apply.
What is a modification?
- A modification is any change to the vehicle which means that it differs from its original manufacture, e.g. the addition of alloy wheels or engine changes. Modifications can affect a cars appearance or performance and may not be acceptable to all insurers. You will need to tell us about any changes to the cars specification and in some cases we may need to discuss this with you.
- If you do not tell us about your modifications, this could affect your policy. This could mean that you will not be covered in the event of a claim or that your insurer may withdraw cover.
I am not sure if how I use my car is classed as business use?
